Research
The aim of our research group is to study the interaction between nanomaterials and cells, which we investigate through two subareas: the Gene-Delivery area studies the molecular mechanisms of gene delivery systems, while Nanotoxicology area determines the toxic potential of nanomaterials and their intracellular mechanisms.

Pesquisadora
Gene-Delivery

This area aims to develop nanomaterials and study the molecular mechanisms triggered by drug delivery systems (Gene-Delivery systems), unraveling the intracellular traffic of the nanomaterial and the consequences for the biology of the specific cell (2D and 3D) or organism in question.

Toxicology

The Nanotoxicology area seeks to determine the toxic effect of nanomaterials on cells (2D and 3D) and organisms, clarifying the mechanisms behind the toxicity. This area contributes to the responsible development and use of nanomaterials.
